The primary purposes of the New Mexico Outdoor Adventures for Singles (OAFS)
club are: to provide
opportunities for outdoor recreation for single men and women who enjoy hiking
in the
mountains, forests, deserts, lakes and waterways of the Southwest; to
appreciate, preserve and protect the scenic beauty of the outdoors; and to
promote the use of proper techniques and safety in club sponsored activities.

We shall pretend it is summer
since we start having our general meeting outdoors this month,
in the Elena Gallegos Open Space. With the price of gas the
way it is, many of the leaders are opting to stay close to home
for the outings this month. It is dry out there with some
fires already burning up some of our treasures. The Trigo fire
is a concern since that trail has been one on my favorites for
a long time. Be careful out there!
It is
getting close to renewal time so applications are also being
sent out. Don’t spend a summer without your OAFS membership!
And what a deal it is.
